BLUE LIGHT FILTERING

This specialized coating filters out blue light, for when you're on digital screens.

Blue light protection for everyday screen time

Blue light is part of daily life, from sunlight to smartphones, computers, tablets and LED lighting. When naturally occurring, it helps regulate energy, alertness and sleep patterns.

But too much blue light exposure, especially in the evening or during long hours on digital devices, can contribute to disrupted sleep.

Blue light coating can help filter a portion of this light for your digital experience. Available on virtually any lens type, it can be added to anti-fatigue lenses, office lenses and progressive lenses, making it easy to personalize your vision for work, school and everyday life.

What is blue light?

Blue light is a high-energy visible light with a short wavelength. The sun is our main natural source, but it also comes from everyday digital screens and LED lighting.

Natural blue light is not bad on its own. It helps support our circadian rhythm, which signals when it’s time to be alert and when it’s time to rest.

Why can blue light be an issue?

Extended screen time can mean more exposure to artificial blue light, which may lead to disrupted circadian rhythms.

Blue light exposure in the evening can also interfere with melatonin production, which may make it harder to fall asleep or get restful sleep.

How blue light coating works

Blue light coating is applied to eligible lenses to help filter a portion of blue light. It is an optional lens add-on available at no additional cost through all-in lens pricing, but it cannot be added to every lens type.

Who can benefit from blue light protection?

Blue light protection may be helpful for people who spend long hours on computers, phones or tablets, including students, office workers, gamers and anyone who uses screens regularly throughout the day.
