At your next Visique visit, you’ll notice we've made a few changes. As doctors, it’s not just your vision that’s important to us. For your overall health and wellbeing, we’ve implemented enhanced safety protocols in order to protect you and our staff members from COVID-19. Below we outline the measures we developed to align with Canada public health guidelines and precautions to create a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
Health Canada recommends Canadians continue to practice physical distancing by avoiding large crowds and keeping a 2 metre distance from others. At our clinics we adhere to this advice by limiting the number of patients in the clinic at a given time with a numbered card system. There are also fewer waiting chairs to encourage each visitor to remain a safe distance from others.
We conduct pre-appointment phone calls to reduce the amount of time you need to spend in person at the clinic. If you’re more comfortable shopping from the comfort of your home, explore our Virtual Personal Shopping service, which is available for you to purchase frames remotely. You can opt to pick up the frames curbside or have them delivered right to your door.
Washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or with an alcohol based hand sanitizer is recommended by Health Canada. Upon your arrival to our clinic, you will be asked to clean your hands with the provided hand sanitizer.
Staff members at clinics regularly disinfect clinic surfaces, pre-test and exam rooms and all equipment before a new patient is in contact with them.
In some provinces across Canada, mandatory mask wearing is in place to prevent the spread of the virus. Health Canada states wearing a face covering or mask can help prevent us from “unknowingly spreading infectious droplets.”
All our opticians, optometrists and clinic staff will be wearing masks when they conduct their visit with you to ensure we limit the spread of disease as much as possible.
We know it can be somewhat strange to adjust to this “new-normal” but we are confident that together we can create a safer and comfortable environment while doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. We encourage you to visit Health Canada’s website for more information on how you can proactively help protect yourself and those around you.
